AKRHO AUTHENTHIC HISTORY
ALPHA KAPPA RHO Service Fraternity and Sorority exist to create a bridge so many weaknesses joining together will form one solid strength. Our organization was founded by senior founding fathers (in alphabetical order) Brods Teddy Aves, Phillip Balange, Tanny Bernabe, James Bracwel, Manuel"BOY"Chua, Phillip Diman, Renato GO, Teddy de Lara, Arnel Lorenzo, Noli Manalo, Obet Posadas, Vismarck Quequep, Monchet Cabrera, Roger Sarmiento and Edwin Solano on August 8, 1973. The junior founders, Brods Jun Pasaporte and William Ho founded the juniors in 1975 at the University of the East along with senior founding sorority sisters, Sis Marissa Comuyog, Alda Altiveros, Grace Mendoza, JJ Aquino (deceased), Joy Mercado, Irene Ileto, Girlie,Susan, Tepi of UST in 1975 The seed of the organization has been planted and need became clear for a formal structure to contain the mutual feelings among members.The ALPHA KAPPA RHO ( AKRHO ) service fraternity and sorority has always been and always will be an organization steeped in the traditions of the past and dedicated to pursuit of humanitarian brotherhood and sisterhood. The organization is made up of men and woman from all cultures, religious backgrounds and interests; it has spread through out the archipelago and through out the world. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, disability, creed, political beliefs, sexual preference, etc. We maintain loyalty, and unity, while we strive for patience, perseverance and pride. The organization was registered with the SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION as and non-profit and non-dividend corporation. The ALPHA KAPPA RHO was the first HUMANITARIAN Organization to be chartered independent from its mother country.
CEBU REGIONAL COUNCIL HISTORY
In 1987 to 1990 new pledge members and even the old members of the ALPHA KAPPA RHO CEBU CHAPTER were not familiar with the principles, guidelines and objectives of their organization. Majorities of the members were teen-agers hence they could not comprehend the ultimate aim of the organization in account of not having undergone an orientation as to their duties. They lack of awareness as to intellectual moral and social responsiveness to an integrated commitment to become worthy members of the organization in particular and to the community in particular.In 1991 one of the organizers of Cebu Chapter called for a General Meeting held at Fuente Osmena Rotonda. Brod. RAMIL NATAN, of U.S.C. Talamban, Brod. JUDE JIVA of Alcatraz, Brod. RICKY MERCADO of Omicron and Brod. ROY ORTIZ of Camputhaw were all organizers of Cebu Chapter. It was the first time they came to meet each other. Agenda of the Meeting was how to unite all AKRHO members of the different chapter of the whole Region VII.
In the same year the five organizers decided to establish a CEBU REGIONAL COUNCIL with the help of their chapter members. They elected the first set of officers of the Regional Council at the UNIVERSITY OF SAN CARLOS Talamban and Recognized as Mother Chapter of ALPHA KAPPA RHO CEBU.
It is hoped that the bonds of unity and sense of belonging fostered by the FIVE FINGERS OF CEBU be cherished and will never be forgotten through the years by all the Brothers and Sisters of ALPHA KAPPA RHO Cebu Chapter.
